Call of the Titans

Long before our times, humanity fought against an evil of unimaginable power…

Seekers Storm: Call of the Titans was a game concept based on the highly acclaimed Huntik TV show which targets 6 – 12 years old boys. The show is an action adventure cartoon about a group of seekers traveling around the globe in search of ancient amulets that can evoke different types of monsters.

The game proposal was developed for Upper Deck Hong Kong who were holders of the license for the Huntik trading card game and toy line. Seekers Storm was designed as an immersive 3D MMO RPG aimed at supporting the launch of the TV show and the TCG, focused on increasing brand awareness and boosting revenues generated by the Huntik merchandise sales.

Inspired by the cartoon, the gameplay revolved around the fight between the good Seekers and the evil Organization, collection of amulets and summoning of the Titans, usage of magical powers, exploration, learning about real-life locations and historical figures (through completion of various missions in the game), and solving various puzzles. It had everything a proper, fully-fledged MMO RPG should have—engaging combat (PvE, PvP), questing, NPCs, leveling up, Easter eggs, close integration with the TGC and a business model to drive its sales. Upper Deck really liked the concept and were ready to sign off on it to kick off the project, but unfortunately due to their sudden and unexpected internal changes they ultimately had to cancel it.

The artwork is from the Huntik TV series (except for the last two images).
